Ingredients

  • 1 lb. bundle asparagus, ends trimmed medium to thick spears recommended
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 oz. thinly sliced prosciutto, roughly chopped about 4 slices
  • 1/4 cup freshly shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. pine nuts
  • Kosher salt to taste
  • fresh black pepper to taste
  • Fresh lemon juice optional

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Small saucepan
  • dry skillet

Method

Preheat the Oven
  1. Set your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
Prepare the Asparagus
  1. Spread the trimmed asparagus spears in a single layer on a baking sheet. Drizzle the asparagus with olive oil, then season lightly with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper. Toss gently to coat each spear evenly.
Add Toppings
  1. Sprinkle the chopped prosciutto, freshly shredded Parmesan cheese, and pine nuts over the oiled and seasoned asparagus.
Bake to Perfection
  1. Transfer the baking sheet to the preheated oven. Bake for 10-15 minutes. Keep a close eye on it; you're looking for the prosciutto to become delightfully crisp and golden brown, while the asparagus turns tender-crisp.
Finishing Touch (Optional)
  1. Once removed from the oven, if desired, give the asparagus a light squeeze of fresh lemon juice to brighten the flavors.
