  • 1 small green cabbage about 2-3lb.
  • 1 small yellow onion thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1 1/2 tsp Creole or Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • red pepper flakes optional

Method
 

Preparing the Vegetables
  1. Slice the cabbage into uniform ¼–½-inch strips, cutting around the core. Rinse and drain well. Thinly slice the onion and mince the garlic.
Sauté the Aromatics
  1. Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and sauté for 3–4 minutes until translucent. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
Cooking the Cabbage
  1. Add half of the cabbage to the skillet, toss for 1 minute, then add the remaining half. Mix thoroughly.
Season and Simmer
  1. Sprinkle Creole seasoning, garlic powder, and smoked paprika over the cabbage. Pour in the chicken broth and toss to coat evenly.
Finishing Touches
  1. Cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender and most liquid evaporates. Taste and adjust seasoning. Serve warm and enjoy!
