  • 5 cups sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed About 2 large sweet potatoes.
  • 30 oz canned tomato sauce
  • 16 oz canned diced tomatoes
  • 30 oz black beans, drained and rinsed About 2 cans.
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon paprika

Cooking Steps
  1. In a skillet over medium-high heat, heat the oil. Add the ground turkey and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Add the diced onion to the skillet and cook for 3-5 minutes, until softened. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  3. Transfer the turkey, onion, and garlic mixture to the slow cooker. Add in the remaining ingredients and stir to combine.
  4. Cook in the slow cooker on low for 4-6 hours, stirring occasionally, until the chili is hot and the sweet potatoes are tender.
  5. Taste and adjust the seasonings as needed before serving.
